About Our Team
Marjorie Kaufman - Hygienist
Marjie is originally from Geneva, New York (the Finger Lakes region), and much of her family is still there. She graduated with honors from Monroe Community College, in Rochester, NY in 1999. She is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
She has spent a total of fifteen years in dentistry. Eight of those years she was an assistant, and the last seven years as a registered dental hygienist. She has worked in a variety of different dental offices, so her knowledge is quite diverse. She has been with us since 2003, and we are extremely fortunate to have her. Her patients love her!
She takes tremendous pride in helping her patient’s transition from a state of poor oral health, such as periodontal disease, to a state of good to excellent oral health. No challenge is too great for Marjie. If she can’t help you herself, she will see to it that you are guided in the right direction so that your path puts you back on the road to improved dental health, no matter what it takes.
Marjorie has three beautiful daughters and is married to the love of her life. She also has three cats and a dog. Her interests include horses, knitting, scrap booking, trivia, and crossword puzzles. She is an accomplished photographer and treasures spending time with her beautiful family.
Karen Walker - Hygienist
Karen was born and raised in Chesterfield, Virginia. She did her undergraduate training at John Tyler and she received her hygiene training at The Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry. She was awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2003.
Karen has had many jobs before settling on a career in dental hygiene. And boy are we happy she found hygiene (or it found her), because she is good. You will not meet anyone as nice as Karen. She cares deeply for the welfare of the patients that she sees and always goes the extra mile. Karen can be seen carefully explaining the importance of improved oral hygiene to a grade schooler, or helping an elderly person with physical limitations discover a way that they can be successful with flossing! She is wise beyond her years.
Karen has a wonderful husband, and a beautiful teenaged daughter who graduated in the spring of 2010, and will be going on to college. She has three adorable dogs Sable, Mikki and Minnie. Her hobbies include painting, crafts, and gardening. But most of all, she enjoys spending time with her family.
Tiffany Smith – Hygiene Assistant
"Tiffy” as she is known to all of us has joined us with three years of prior dental experience. She is a graduate of dental assistant school and has decided she would like to continue her education to become a hygienist.
Tiffy is our hygiene assistant and does a great job with children prophy’s and has adapted well to our digital x-ray system. She was born and raised in Virginia and has two younger brothers. In her spare time she loves spending time with her family as well as their two Dobermans; Titus and Athena and the families Sheltie sheep dog, Loricin.
Jenny Melton - CEREC Technician and Head Dental Assistant
There is so much to be said about Jenny that it is difficult to know where to begin. Jenny has been with us since 1992. Since that time, she has become completely indispensable. Jenny can virtually do it all, from minor repairs on equipment to creating the most beautiful CEREC restorations possible. She is kind and thoughtful and a true artist. She is excellent at what she does. We are very lucky to have her.
She is happily married and is the proud mom of a handsome son and a fabulous daughter. Her interests include gardening, reading and spending time with her family.
Lindsey H. Barnes – Front Desk
Lindsey was born and raised in the Chester area. She has shared her expertise with us since November 2007. She graduated from Richard Bland College with an associate’s degree.
We are very fortunate to have Lindsey as one of our top front desk employees. Lindsey takes pride in assisting our patients with all of their questions, and needs. She adapts quickly to changing circumstances. Our patients receive one on one personal attention from Lindsey beginning with their call to schedule an appointment followed by hands on interaction when they visit our office for their appointments. Her ultimate goal is to assist our patients to attain beautiful smiles from a great dental visit.
In her off time she enjoys cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Lindsey and her husband Lee reside in Chester with “Cooper” their yellow lab.
Tricia Worley – Front Desk
Tricia is one of the newest members to our front desk staff. She is a 2010 graduate of Longwood University. Tricia has been in the dental field since 2005 and is very accomplished with her duties at the front desk. She prides herself on assisting our patients with questions and individual needs. Her priority is for the patient to have a relaxing stress free dental visit.
Tricia is a newlywed. She and her husband Forrest reside in Chesterfield and are excited to new home owners.
Stephen Chapel (Steve) – Chief Financial Officer
Steve is a graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BS degree in Accounting. He is a member of Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, with 20 years in this field. He is our go to person for insurance which is a rather complex area of the dental field. He is always ready to give a helping hand where needed from greeting patients to monitoring insurance claims, collections and a variety of other responsibilities.
He is a great team player and welcomes the opportunity to meet new people everyday. Steve resides in Glen Allen with his wife and three children. He recently added a new member to the family, a mixed breed puppy who will answer to Oliver or several other names. Steve’s hobbies include sports and he is somewhat of a history buff.
Marygrace Andrews – Office Manager
“Grace” as she is known to most everyone has been with our dental team for two plus years. Previously she had 21 years of office management experience. She was a member of senior management with a community bank in the Petersburg area. She has brought organizational and personnel skills to our office which are truly appreciated.
She enjoys being on the front line with the patients and staff members and will assist everyone without hesitation. She has learned a lot from our staff relating to patients dental needs and we anticipate that she has found her final career.
In her spare time she enjoys working out at the gym and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Grace and her husband reside in the Colonial Heights area. They use their week-ends for travel excursions and are always planning their next get away.
